Galatians 4:7 & 9
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ...
But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
It amazes me when Christians turn back to the world. God saved us from the bondage of sin and the world. Why then do we long for the things of the world? We that are saved are heirs of God, we have an eternal home in Heaven. It should not bother us to be set apart from this temperal world.

Devotion - Galations 6:1-2
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
We need to help one another. So often when someone falls we keep them down. Let's lift each other up. Find someone to encourage today.

Devotion - Psalm 107
In Psalm 107 there is a verse that repeats itself several times. It appears first in verse 8...
"Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!"
This verse appears identically 3 more times in this chapter; verses 15,21, and 31. If God put this verse 4 times in one chapter, I think it is an important verse. If we would praise the Lord continually for what He has done for us, maybe we will not be so quick to forget as the Children of Israel did in the wilderness and as we so often do.
My Pastor mentioned not too long ago that we spend weeks (or longer) praying for something then when our prayer is answered we thank God once and move on. Wouldn't it be great if we spend more time praising God afterward than the time we spent begging God.

Devotion - Isaiah 26:3-4
Isaiah 26:3-4
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
This is another well known verse but it holds so true for me right now so I thought I would share it today. No matter what is going on around us God can give us peace. It is in some of the toughest situations in my life that I have had the greatest peace. God is so good.

Devotion: Matthew 11:28-30
Matthew 11:28-30
Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.
I love these verses but a little comment in there I have been overlooking. Verse 29 says "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me;". How well do we know the Lord. We need to learn of Him. Not how much we know about the Bible, how much do you know about God personally. We take time to learn about those we love, we want to know everything about them. Take time to get to know God on a personal level and you will find rest in being with Him.

Devotion: Psalm 71:8
Psalm 71:8
Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.
This is a great daily prayer. Our mouth is often filled with things that don't please the Lord and often cause us much trouble. I want to please God with my mouth. What better things are there to flow out of the mouth than praise to the Lord.

Devotion - Psalm 34:4-8
Psalm 34:4-8
I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard [him], and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
O taste and see that the LORD [is] good: blessed [is] the man [that] trusteth in him.
God wants us to have peace in our lives. He even sent angels to watch over us. We don't need to worry about things that we cannot change. Rest in the arms of the Lord and let Him give you peace.
