Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
I have heard this verse over and over but until today didn't think about my having a merry heart being a medicine to others and not just myself. According to the verse we looked at yesterday, pleasant words are healthy. The verse before this verse (17:21) talks about begetting a fool. I never put the two verses together. Perhaps this is how not to raise a fool. As a mother my merry heart/sweet spirit is medicine for my children. Sort of like a fertilizer. If I have a broken spirit around them it is going to eat them up inside.
